Activities for Children: Watch football games (FIFA World Cup 2010)

Watching sports games in TV can be a unifying experience. Despite the fact that I usually encourage active activities, in my experience, even watching sports games in television with children’s (For example the World Cup), can be fun and even encourage outside activity followed.

FIFA World Cup South Africa ‏ 2010(Football Championship) is the premier international football tournament. World Cup held every four years, many countries from around the world  and millions of fans are participating and making it a colorful carnival event.

I recommend to watch broadcasts of the  FIFA World Cup 2010 games with the children and complete the activity with Soccer games outdoor.

The idea of this activites is that watching sports games can encourage exercise. You can
implement the idea for many activities with children such as, cycling bike after watching the Tour de France and lots of sports activities with kids after Olympic games, world contests etc.

Crafts Activities for kids: Making sheep from Plasticine

Sheep from Plasticine

Today I want to show you a guide for preparing Plasticine sculpture of a sheep. The materials for the sheep can be found at every home.

Ingredients needed:
Plasticine
Cotton wool
6 Toothpicks
Polystyrene ball
Cardboard
wiggly eyes
Colors
Glue

What to do:

Step One:
paint flowers and grass on the cardboard base.

Step Two:
Glue the Cotton wool around the Polystyrene ball.

Step Three:
After the glue dries stuck toothpicks into the ball.
4 toothpicks for the legs
1 for the head
1 for the tail

Add toothpicks

Step Four:
Use black plasticine  in order to connect the legs of the sheep to the cardboard.

Step Five:
Connect a small circle of white Plasticine in to the tail toothpick.

Add cheep tail

Step Six:
In order to prepare the head of the sheep’s take white Plasticine and make it a form of a head
Add ears from black plasticine
Add mouth from Red plasticine
Glue the eyes.

Step Seven:
Connect the sheep’s head by toothpick.

Camp activities for kids

Camping with children (usually at summer) is an excellent opportunity for quality time with your kids. The combination of no formal and outdoor activities is excelent for enjoyable activity. Planning camp activities for kids is necessary because of the relatively long time of the camping.

I decided to divided the Camping activities for children into several types:

• Sports activities for kids – Sport activities are perfect at camping because they can take advantage of the space and the nature. Examples of sport activities – orienteering, Tug of War (tug war, rope war or rope pulling) – test strength of two groups, three Sticks (Place three sticks on the ground in equal distance, every kid need to jump between the sticks without touching the sticks or jumping in the same space twice, after he succeed he can increase the space between the sticks),playing hide and seek and more. 
• Research and Science activities – observation of animals (for example birds) and plants. 
• Crafts activities – You can use natural elements in order to create crafts. for example, necklace from acorns, collecting leaves and paste them on papers, making baskets from Straw, end much more… 
• Food activities – preparation of bread on a bonfire, marshmallow baking, baked potatoes on bonfire etc.. 
• Establish camp activities – building tents or hammock, preparing of tools from trees and rocks, prepare of bonfire, etc. 
• Social activities – singing around the bonfire, Treasure Hunt game.

Camping Activities for kids - Animal Observation

For summery, camping activities with kids is amazing. I recommend to prepare some of the activities materials at home before driving to the camp, such as glue, string, paint and paper.

Keep in mind, it is your responsibility to make sure the safety of the camp and the activities. It is important that the kids will drink enough and wear a hat, forbid them from raise stones (the danger of snakes) and keep them run not in a dangerous places.

Kids activities: construction flying model aircraft

This time I choose to present you the the activity of model aircraft. The subject of model aircraft can be divided to Two: construction and flying. Today, we focus on the construction.
 
Building model aircraft is perfect activity for children and it can grow to an excellent hobby. It’s amazing to see children that do not like to make crafts or other creative activities, but when it comes to construct model aircraft, they can sat for hours without realizing how time passes.

Building model aircraft develop many skills in the children: concentration, fine motor skills, accuracy and more.

It is important to start construction of relatively simple models aircraft and then progress to advanced (With out any shortcut). The reason for that is that building advanced model aircraft (for example with a remote control) from ready kit will not “plant” the basic knowledge of concentration model aircrafts. Sometimes, Building simple model aircrafts from sketch requires more work than the construction of children’s Advanced Ready Kits.
 
Most of the beginners model aircrafts made from balsa wood, the benefits of this wood is that it is light and strong. The wings of the more advanced model aircrafts are made from paper, but inside the wings there are profiles made from balsa wood.

The first step of starting the hobby of building model aircraft is to visit store that Specializing in model aircraft. Ask the seller to recommend sketch of basic model aircraft (Advanced model airplane have engine and remote control, and of course cost higher) and ask for some advice.

My last tip for parents (also suitable for other activities with children). Sometimes there is a situation where the parents are more excited about the hobby than the kids and even interrupt in the building. Try to remember… You are the parents. Even if the flying model does not come out the most perfect in the world, that’s fine. It is the kids model airplane.
